What is a meniscus?

Between your thigh bone and your shin bone, there is a pad of cushioning that helps support your knee when jumping, running or changing direction. There are 2 menisci found in each knee and they both have a c-shape.

What causes meniscus injury?

A meniscus injury commonly occurs when we twist or rotate our knee while putting weight on it. Other causes of a meniscus injury can be sudden stopping/turning, performing deep squats, or even lifting heavy objects.
